Erie County Historical Commission Purpose:
  • To assist in the preservation and promotion of the history of Erie County, its communities, and population
  • To foster diverse groups, organizations and individuals in observing and commemorating the history of Erie County
  • To promote opportunities to engage the community in historical events and commemorations
  • To create educational opportunities and partnerships involving local and county history
  • To help promote cultural and heritage tourism throughout the country

Commission Membership:
Members shall be appointed by, and serve at the pleasure of the Erie County Executive. Members shall not be compensated for their service
